Machan hoping to test himself against Australia
Machan, 22, who moved to Worthing for the current Sussex Premier League season, has been in excellent form this season. He scored his first international hundred for Scotland against Kenya last month and quickly followed that up with his maiden first-class ton in Sussex’s County Championship win at Somerset earlier this month.
On the prospect of taking on Australia, Machan said: “It’s going to be a great spectacle and a great occasion for the club.

Machan has been delighted with how his season has gone and said: “It’s been going really well and playing for Scotland has really helped me come on with Sussex.
“I just want to play as much as possible in the first team in four-day cricket for the rest of the season and keep scoring runs in the one-day matches.”
Machan will again be missing for Worthing this week if selected for Sussex’s match with Australia but is hoping the club can remain in the Premier League.
